Tools, Tools and more Tools

This week we have been thinking about the tools we use. We have been building our strength doing exercises developing our grosse motor skills and using tools to develop hand eye co-ordination and fine motor development.

We use mark making tools to create big designs outdoors.

 "Look, I use the autumn things to do patterns and shapes"

We find different uses for objects creating our own tools.

                           "Its my job to make sure all the building things are tidy at home time"

                                          At Sparklers we use real tools to design and build.

Using real tools is the perfect activity in which children can demonstrate the characteristics of effective learning:-

·         playing and exploring - children investigate and experience things, and ‘have a go’;
·         active learning - children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties, and enjoy achievements;
·          creating and thinking critically - children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas, and develop strategies for doing things.
