The end of one year

We have had a great summer term which has ended with us putting on a performance for our friends and family of our dough dancing and cheerleading. It has been great to be able to share what we do with everyone and great to see our families joining in and having a go themselves. We have had lots of fun and learnt lots this year and are looking forward to the next steps on our journey.

Making something out of nothing

Do you ever wonder why when a child gets a present they spend hours playing with the box it came in and the paper it was wrapped in? Do you remember how when we were young we played for hours without gadgets and gizmos had a great time and let our imagination run wild?

In our play we use every day objects to allow our children to explore, create and experiment. As there is no answer or way of doing something the child is never wrong and always achieves. This type of play shows active learning and huge amounts of critical thinking allowing them to take the lead , make their own decisions on what to use and how to use it, they can solve their own problems as well as develop their imagination. This can begin from something as simple as picking up a block of wood and pretending it's a phone to finding and object adding it to something else to create a different use for it.

Our garden area has been inspired by this thinking our imagination has run wild thinking about the stories we love and what we simply like the idea of. We have been dinosaur explorers, fighting dragons in the forest and rescuing others from crocodiles in the pond. A childs imagination is endless and we have used this to develop our area.

A calm start to each day

This is Maximo he helps us find ways to stretch and balance. We are enjoying our daily session where we breath and calm ourselves to prepare for the day ahead.

We have mastered so many moves and found we can balance in many different ways.

These are some of the names of some of our favourite moves :  the propeller, the flamingo, keeping the news, circque de so leg, super scooper,  hug it out.

People who help us

The waitress in the cafe tells the chef what we would like to eat.
We have seen found lots of people who help us at different times. Our Family help us all the time helping us to be safe and grow into every day.

"Mummy helps me fasten the seat belt in the car"
The builder builds our houses so we can have
somewhere to live

We have found lots of other people who help us do things, but we must remember these people are strangers so we need to make sure we stay with our Mummy, Daddy, Grandma or Grandad. We have had fun helping other people.

The bus driver takes us to the shops

"I am a fireman, who are you?"

"Daddy helps me put away all my toys"

"We can make you better Mrs Ronson"
